Menntaskólinn in Reykjavik (Reykjavik School of Education) is the oldest junior college in Iceland. It offers a three-year track, attended by age-groups 16-19. It has always made every effort to prepare students for university studies. The school has been in its current location since 1846 and has been called the Reykjavik School of Education since 1937. It is known to be one of if not the most academic school in the country for its traditional and classic education.
