The project’s objective was to strengthen bilateral relations of Iceland and Slovakia by forming a partnership between an Icelandic and a Slovak school, i.e. Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík and Spojená škola Novohradská. Science teachers of both schools met and discussed the conditions and ins and outs of teaching Science, specifically Biology, Chemistry, and Physics in the 21st century where environment-friendly innovations and smart solutions are the crux of a global discussion. The Slovak teachers’ visit to Iceland provided a platform for exchanging know-how. Thus, much needed reflection and improvement of overall quality of education and training at upper-secondary and higher education level in Iceland and Slovakia can be facilitated. Last but not least, the project’s objective was also to improve mutual knowledge and understanding between Iceland and Slovakia.
